Principles of COSHH

Introduction

This qualification is aimed at learners who work in an environment where coming into contact with hazardous substances is likely.
This includes workplaces in areas such as manufacturing, cleaning, healthcare, transport, utilities and office environments. The qualification provides learners with the knowledge and skills needed to recognise the risks associated with hazardous substances and how to control them.

Key training content

· Understand the principles of hazardous substances in the workplace

· Understand how hazardous substances can cause hazards and risks to health within the workplace

· Understand how risk assessments contribute to the safe use of hazardous substances in the workplace

· Understand the precautions and procedures necessary to ensure the risks associated with hazardous substances are properly controlled

Assessment

Assessment consisting of 15 multiple choice questions to be completed within 30 minutes under examination conditions

Qualification

On passing the assessment, participants will receive a nationally recognised Level 2 Certificate from Highfield

Course Location: On site at your premises or at our dedicated training facility at Sentinel House

Course Duration: 5 hours of guided learning
