This knowledge based nationally recognised RQF qualification is aimed at developing the learners knowledge and understanding of what dementia is and how to support individuals with dementia, including understanding a range of theoretical models of dementia and types of dementia.
Leaners will look at the role of the carer in in the support and care of individuals with dementia. In particular the administration of of medication to individuals using a centre-personed approach.

This course will aid students in:
Developing knowledge in the care and management of birds Gaining an insight into the care and management of small mammals Exploring the care and management of larger mammals Investigating the Care and management of marine mammals Identifying rehabilitation considerations and release methods
Students looking for an insight into Animal Care
Students looking to enrol onto this course should meet the following criteria:
Be aged 16 Years or above
Possess a solid knowledge of the english language
Have access to a PC and the internet for the duration of the whole course
Basic computer skills: e.g Word processing, emailing, uploading documents etc
Have a genuine desire to succeed
This course provides successful students with a fully recognised qualification from TQUK, listed on the RQF (Regulated Qualifications Framework). TQUK is recognised as an awarding organisation by the qualification regulators for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, who are: the office of the qualifications and examinations regulator (OFQUAL) in England, the Welsh Government and the council for curriculum, examinations and assessment (CCA) in Northern Ireland.

Learners will complete 7 units of study in total as listed below.
7 tutor marked assignment to complete.
- Dementia awareness
- The person centred approach to the care and support of individuals with dementia
- Understand the factors that can influence communication & interaction with individuals
- Understand equality, diversity and inclusion in dementia care.
- Understand the administration of medication to individuals with dementia
- Understand behaviour in the context of dementia
- Understand the benefits of engaging in activities in social care
Learners will be required to complete a series of tutor marked assignments ( normally 1 after each unit) as they progress through this course. Each assignment will contain a variety of tasks/questions. These assignments are assessed by your tutor to monitor progress. You will be provided with constructive feedback to help you in completing each unit to the required standard.
