Course programme

Teachers will be introduced to three print processes: mono, relief and screen printing, exploring methods of experimenting with all three processes singularly and in combination, using direct printing approaches and techniques that do not involve printing presses or specialised equipment. They will be shown how effective outcomes can be achieved without them and discuss how Print/Art practice can be embedded into the curriculum. They will develop a series of prints in the following way:

• Mono- printing varied techniques, transfer, direct, collage, idea development (thematic projects linked to curriculum i.e. literacy words and image based piece)
• Relief- Explore multi block colour printing and reductive methods following simple registration techniques and printing with a baron.
• Screen printing- From construction of screen mesh onto frame, developing mono screen prints, and simple paper stencilling techniques.

Explore opportunities to maximise all three processes by combining some techniques and enhancement of ideas through making and multiple prints.
