Our courses are delivered by highly experienced professionals in a range of teaching environments that reflect our unique relationship with the industry. We combine formal teaching with extensive hands on experience as well as a series of mentored industry placements with our many training partners. The one year Production and Technology course we deliver is designed to equip the student for immediate entry into professional employment.
About this course
Our ethos is simple, come and train with us and you will gain the knowledge and experience necessary to succeed in the entertainment industry. The staff at the Edinburgh Lighting and Sound School have been delivering technical courses for over twenty years with a near hundred percent graduate employment record. Graduate employment possibilities include Lighting Crew, Lighting Programmer, Production Technician, Touring Crew. Sound Crew, Sound Operator, Sound Technician. Production Assistant. AV Operator and AV Technician.
This is a full-time vocational course that prepares students to become versatile professionals in a wide range of production roles in theatre and entertainment related industries.
There are fifteen places on the course. Recruitment is by interview.
The school considers that interest and enthusiasm are as important as formal qualifications. The ideal candidate will show commitment and a high degree of maturity.
The School is based in the industry. Students will be working alongside professionals from the first day.

Success on the course demands hard work, commitment and determination. The hours can be long and the work physically tiring, but the rewards and satisfaction are great.
