This course is aimed at non-electrical and electrical personnel of any age or background. Whether you want to start a new career or learn a new trade skill, we have an electrical course to suit you. The aim of each course is to provide a level of competence which will allow work to be safely and efficiently carried out on domestic electrical installations and equipment. Suitable for: The course is specifically designed for people with no prior electrical experience, its aim is to provide you with the theoretical understanding and practical skills required to work in a safe and responsible manner within the domestic electrical installation industry. Its is suitable for men and women of all ages (18 to 65).

About this course

Together with a small amount of home study, you will be spending four weeks training at our training centre to complete the practical training, assessments and exams. You will have up to two years to complete the 4 practical, week-long modules of your programme. Our course dates are entirely flexible so you can fit it around your current commitments, e.g. work or family.

It is a 4 week course that includes 4 professional qualifications and enables you to become a qualified Domestic Electrician (EAL Domestic Installer - Part P Qualification) being able to test and inspect your own work. Furthermore, you can also test other people’s work and inspect every type of installation after completing the City & Guilds 2391 (Full inspection and testing qualification).
 
The course starts with an introduction to Essential Electrics and also includes City & Guilds 2382
(17th Edition Wiring Regulations) and City & Guilds 2392 (The fundamentals of inspection and testing).
