The reality of becoming a professional actor is far more demanding than many people realise. This course focuses
largely on how to market yourself as a professional actor and how to maintain a career in this business. Developing
an entrepreneurial attitude as an actor will help you get more, and better, work. We will be focusing on the most important issue… making a living. We aim to harness the skills you already have to develop employment opportunities for you.

Apply your knowledge about how and when to approach industry professionals for work.
Recognise the role and value of contemporary writers, directors and casting directors.
Judge with confidence what you should be watching and where?
Stay on top of tax. Know what you can claim for, filing early, how to pay and in manageable chunks.
Find opportunities for synergistic work such as corporate role-play, voice work, fitness/movement coaching etc.
Present yourself professionally in person, online, on paper and on social media.
Start putting your acting career plan into action.
No other costs. Something to take notes with.
No required work outside of class. However as this is a career-oriented course, you will make more progress if you start putting what you learn in class into practice. This also allows you to bring in any questions into class.
As part of the course content, your tutor may record your image for initial and ongoing assessment purposes. You are entitled to decline to participate in the recording of your image.
