Aims and Objectives
This course provides underpinning knowledge for DANOS
·A vocationally related qualification to NVQ in Community Justice: Working with offending behaviour(VRQ)·NVQ in Health & Social Care·Academic Level 3 modular award
·Accredited by City and Guilds and approved by the Qualification Curriculum Authority
·Provides underpinning knowledge for Drug and Alcohol National Occupation Standards(DANOS)
·Suitable for workers in criminal justice and health related fields
·Supported by the Home Office, Drug Action Teams/Community Safety Partnerships in the region and the National Treatment Agency.
Students must complete 5 mandatory units which include:·Orientation to Drug and Alcohol services·Inter-agency working within the community justice sector·Ethics, values and diversity within the community justice sector·Assessing substance misusers·Support and interventions for substamce misusers.
Students are also expected to choose 3 optional units.
How will I be assessed?
A series of assignments, presentations and an externally set, short answer question paper.
