Psychology A level

In Year One, you will study five Core areas of Psychology. These are: Cognitive, Developmental, Physiological, Social and Individual Differences. Within these areas, you will examine 15 classic studies and consider their problems, their implications for society and how they could be improved. In addition to these areas of Psychology, you will become familiar with four short Psychological Investigations. These are a self-report, an observation, an experiment and a correlation. Year Two will build on the skills you gained in the first year and you will study two different areas of applied Psychology - Health & Clinical Psychology and Forensic Psychology. You will also build on your research methods knowledge and develop skills in designing a practical Psychology project. Year Two will also involve further study in approaches, perspectives, methods, issues and debates in Psychology.
