Course Progression: Successful completion of AS will allow you to progress to the A2 year and a full A level. With other A Levels or equivalent, you can gain entry to Higher Education.

Course Description:
Psychology is the scientific study of human behaviour and experience. This course looks at how individuals and groups operate, enabling us to understand and predict behaviour.

Description Breakdown:
Students study 2 units. Unit 1 is on cognitive psychology, developmental psychology and research methods. Unit 2 is on biological psychology, social psychology and individual differences.

AS Psychology will be assessed by two 1½ hour written tests which involve structured questions. One exam will be taken in January, and the second will be taken in May.

Students will need to have, or develop, essay writing skills and the ability to critically appraise research.
