If you’re considering a career in the Uniformed Public Services or aspiring to be involved in a management role in a public services related career then this course is for you. The programme provides the knowledge, understanding and skills required for employment in both the Uniformed and Non-Uniformed Public Services, both in the UK and overseas. It would equally suit those who are new to this area as those already employed in it and who wish to progress to management level roles. Successful graduates will be able to embark on careers in organisations such as the Emergency Services, National Probation Service, Armed Forces (Officer level), HMRC, Criminal Justice Agencies and the Civil Service or alternatively continue their studies on a relevant postgraduate course.

The vocationally-based BSc (Hons) Public Service and the Community Degree is aimed at a range of candidates who represent the wide and varied levels of uniformed public service provision, which is reflected in the variety of experiences featured throughout the course. This programme is sufficiently broad based to prepare you to perform successfully within a multi-agency environment. Ultimately, its aim is to equip you with knowledge and skills in the practice and management of the Uniformed Public Services, leading to a specialist career in this area of employment or even to postgraduate study.
