Did you know that an estimated 1.1 million workers in Britain had an accident at work in 2014/2015? Of those, 2,700 occurred in the East Midlands, where on average one out of every 370 workers received an injury at work.
Children are prone to minor injuries, but suffer from serious injuries as well. In 2014, 2,269 children in the UK were so badly bitten by an animal they had to be admitted to hospital.
More than 2,000,000 (yes, that reads 2 million) children have accidents in the home for which they’re taken to A&E – every year, with Under 5s accounting for 7% of all hospital emergency treatments.

About this course
By choosing this course, participants will gain knowledge of emergency first aid for Adults as well as Infants (Babies) and Children.
This course can be done by complete beginners, or added to other courses. For instance, our Emergency First Aid at Work and First Aid at Work courses are geared towards Adults, and by doing this short course as a bolt-on, one is covered for Children as well.
Alternatively, if one is doing, or has already done, an Emergency Paediatric First Aid or Paediatric First Aid course, which cover emergency first aid for children and infants only, by adding this course as bolt-on, one has experience and a certificate to work with Adults as well.
This QA Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support for Adults and Children (RQF) course is a half day course to teach the skills and knowledge needed to provide basic life support for adults and children. It is also useful for those who are already qualified in first aid, to refresh their skills and knowledge and broaden it to cover both adults and children.
No first aid experience is necessary.
Basic grasp of English is required as the course is taught in English.
The participant needs to be able to kneel on the floor (cushions are allowed) in order to fulfill some of the practical parts of the course (CPR).
This QA Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support for Adults and Children (RQF) course is a nationally recognised, Ofqual Regulated Qualification accredited by Qualsafe Award
This course is a new course and is ideal for those who work with both Children and Adults. It is also good for those who already have first aid training in Adults, but want to expand their knowledge in order to give first aid to children. And vice versa, it is good for those who already have first aid training for Children, and who want to expand that knowledge to work with Adults as well (ie, their co-workers or parents/grandparents of those coming into their setting).
After requesting information, we will either email you or call you (your choice) with the imformation required.
Booking can be made either by email or phone.
Yes it can. This course can be done as a stand-alone for £55, but it can also be added to other courses as a bolt-on for just £20.
