Laser refractive surgery has developed massively since the first procedure in the UK in 1989. Refractive surgery now uses laser and non-laser techniques in an estimated 140,000 procedures per annum. Approximately a third of optometrists will at some stage in their careers become involved in the refractive surgery sector. However, at present, there is little provision for the teaching and training of refractive surgery principles and co-management within the undergraduate optometry programmes. This course presents the latest principles of both laser and non-laser refractive correction of ametropia and remains highly topical and relevant to all those in optometric practice.Key DatesClasses on 25/05/2016; 26/05/2016Exam date 20/07/2016 Course Information Start DateCostCourse CodeApply For additional dates please register your interest Home / EU - £1,000 OVM022 Register Interest Eligibility Non EEA students can only apply as part of a programme, not as a stand-alone module. You should normally be a UK registered optometrist satisfying all legal requirements to be eligible to practise in the UKYou should also be registered with the General Optical CouncilOverseas optometrists/ Medical Practitioners will be accepted on an ad hoc basis providing your undergraduate syllabus and clinical responsibilities are similar to those of a UK optometrist/Medical Practitioner.
