This course teaches Active Reiki in the traditional Japanese style of the founder Usui-sensei, without any of the modern Western add-ons. You will receive the 4 Shoden attunements on level 1 and the Okuden attunement on level 2.
You will learn all the relevant Japanese techniques and theory for these levels and you will learn how to use Reiki for professional practice and/or friends and family. On level 2 you will learn to correctly use the Usui symbols with their relevant Jumon and Kotodama. You will be able to practice aura/body scanning, healing and distant healing during the course.
On completion of the course you will be able to use Reiki to effectively and safely treat yourself and others, work professionally as a practitioner (if you want to) and you will take the next step on your spiritual journey.
This Reiki course is certified and teaches Reiki practice to the standard of the NOS guidelines and the Reiki Council Certificate of Professional Practice. A comprehensive manual and post course support is included.

The gap between level 1 and 2 is artificial and was introduced by Western Reiki teachers. Mikao Usui and Dr Hayashi taught Reiki as a continuous course. Dr Hayashi taught level 1 and 2 over 5 days with 2 hours teaching each day.
The reasons teachers in the West give for the gap are:
"to allow the student to get used to the energy."
"the attunements are too strong to be given so close together"
"the cleansing process is too difficult"
The reasons we feel it is better to teach level 1 and 2 together are:
Level 1 only teaches the use of high frequency spiritual energy, which will not work directly on a physical or emotional level.
The cleansing process can be difficult for some students, and if they have not been attuned to the level 2 energy they will struggle to heal themselves effectively, making the cleansing process more prolonged and difficult.
Very few students will be sensitive enough to feel the energy used at level 1. We find that students get disillusioned with Reiki when they have only taken level 1 because they cannot feel the energy and are disappointed with the healing effects. Level 1 is more a relaxation treatment, rather than the healing treatment possible at level 2.
Level 1 is not a complete or stand-alone course, and as such it only teaches part of the Reiki system. Mikao Usui said Light and Ki energy flows from the healers hands, eyes and breath. Level 1 teaches the Light component and level 2 teaches the Ki component that works directly on a physical and emotional level. Both are needed to be able to use Reiki effectively.
This is the way Reiki was taught originally, and we are trying to keep the Reiki tradition alive.
We teach a very focused Reiki course that teaches traditional Reiki and current best practice for professional practice. We do not waste time teaching Western add ons that add nothing of value to Reiki and in fact make it more complex than it should be.
The course prepares you for professional practice over two days but we recommend that you practice self-healing and practice your Reiki on friends and family for between 4 and 12 weeks to gain confidence and experience and to really embed the teachings and techniques of Reiki. After that you should be ready to work with the fee paying public.
Other Reiki level 1 and 2 courses do not teach to National Occupational Standards, nor do they prepare for the Reiki Council verification process. They instead have an extra module costing between £200 and £300 which works out a lot more when added to the level 1 and 2 course. Our Reiki level 1 and 2 course actually works out a lot cheaper as it is a professional practitioner course.
