Respirator Training.

This training programme provides the necessary information to form a satisfactory understanding and awareness of the issues relating to the selection, use, maintenance, cleaning and storage of RPE according to current legislative requirements. It is aimed at personnel who wear RPE as part of their daily activities

In order to obtain the maximum protection required for the use of Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) the wearer requires a full understanding in the use, maintenance and storage of the equipment in the correct manner

Employers must ensure that adequate training is provided to all personnel who use RPE in the workplace before first use.

The training will include:

Selection and Use of RPE Correct Donning and Doffing Procedures Current Legislation Basic Maintenance Requirements Cleaning Storage Respirator Face Fit Testing Record Keeping Final Assessment

Employers are required by law to ensure that suitable training for RPE is provided before first use to all existing and new personnel.

Refresher training should be provided at suitable intervals.
