You will be assessed on your English and Maths skills at interview.
After applying you will have an interview to determine which course is suitable for your needs and abilities.

You can read longer pieces of writing and understand the main ideas without help. You can write longer pieces of writing of 100 words or more.
You can work with numbers, symbols, and simple diagrams to solve problems. You can add and subtract and do easy multiplication. You can use fractions and simple decimals.
What qualification will I receive?
The College Certificate of Achievement for successful completion of the Return to Learning course and a Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy at Level 1 or 2.
Where can it lead?
You can continue your education at the College of North West London or other colleges. You could be accepted on a range of courses such as IT programmes, Access courses, business studies, social science programmes, GCSEs, BTEC diplomas and child care and social work courses etc.
What will I study?
Subjects you will study include English, Maths, IT, study skills, sociology and politics of race and gender.
How will I be taught?
You will be taught using a variety of methods depending on the subjects and topics including discussions, lectures, group work, pair work, presentations, demonstrations, reading texts, books and newspapers. This will also include IT-assisted learning games, role play, individual study, one to one, handouts, video and TV.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed continuously throughout the year and take exams in English and Maths.
What support is available while I am on the course?
You will have a tutorial and access to learning support, educational and career guidance.
