About this course
Reference the laws relevant to safe practice and how to apply these to their decision making process.
Explain the principles of risk assessment.
Recall the importance of ‘suitable and sufficient’ information and the impact this has on safer ways of working.
Discuss the roles and responsibilities of management in creating a safe system of work.
Demonstrate their role and responsibilities as a risk assessor.
Analyse a range of risk assessment profoma's
Apply a range of accredited risk assessment tools
Gain basic presentation skills to be able to pass knowledge onto others in a learning environment
Devise and execute a plan of action for their place of work in order to be compliant
Apply risk assessment principles to prioritise decision making
This course is aimed at all Social Care Managers, Registered Managers, Registered Providers or Team Leaders with a hands on role and the ambition to influence change.
You should have volunteered for the training with the agreement and support of your Manager / registered provider.
Be familiar with the theoretical knowledge of the subject and the wider Social Care Sector
The course is delivered by a Risk Management Consultant with over twenty years knowledge of managing and advising in the Social Care Sector.
The trainer invites delegates to bring in existing Risk Assessment documentation to the sessions in order to evaluate their effectiveness.
There is practical elements to this course giving the delegates the opportunity to complete generic and specific Risk assessment documentation
On completion delegates will recieve risk assessment templates designed for Social Care Sector

You will receive some work to complete by Day 2, this will ensure that you have the confidence and knowledge to complete suitable and sufficent RIsk Assessment
You have the change to progress to the Five day Moving & Handling Trainers Programme.
The course concentrates on the Risk Assessment process. You may wish to attend the 'Achieving Compliance with Effective Care Planning' This course would ensure that you develop 'person centred ' care plans
