Introduction:The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and various other regulations require employers to
carry out risk assessments and to implement control measures. This course is aimed to provide delegates with an
appreciation of the legal requirements for risk assessment and to show delegates that risk assessment is not a
document but a way of working.
Aims:
By the end of the course delegates will be able to:
· Understand current general legislation.
· Carry out risk assessments.
· Understand the HSE 5 Steps to Risk Assessment
· Understand hazard identification, risk rating and control actions.
· Understand the actions to be taken after risk assessment ( communication, recording and reviewing)
· Identify common pitfalls.
