Aim To provide a flexible and vocationally relevant popular music qualification which will provide skills to develop realistic employment opportunities in the music industry. Delivery and assessment are focused on practical music making and production.
This course is a compulsory additional qualification to First Diploma in Music and National Diploma in Music Technology.
This course is available as an optional additional qualification for First Diploma Performing Arts.
Content Students will have the option of 4 routes to gain this qualification
· As a performing musician (electric guitar, bass guitar, drums or keyboards)
· As a vocal artist
· As a creative music producer
· As an urban/dance musician.
Level 2 Award for Music Practitioners
· Unit 1 - Music rehearsal skills or composing music
· Unit 2 - Live music performance or live sound recording.
Level 3 Award for Music Practitioners
· Unit 1 - Music rehearsal skills or composing music or arranging music
· Unit 2 - Live music performance or live sound recording.
An audition is required. There will be a three hour session each week with several live performances during the year.
