Safe Use of Equipment

The course has been designed to give participants the basic skills necessary to ensure their own safety and that of others when using handling equipment. It has been designed in a modular format to allow flexibility and meet the needs of different staff groups. Participants should have attended modules A-D before attending this course.

The ½ day course concentrates wholly on the safe use of hoists and slings

A variety of teaching methods are used including groupwork, discussion, demonstration and practise of handling activities.

Course includes:

  • Module E - Assistance with transfers and personal care
  • Module F - Safe use of equipment including beds, wheelchairs, hoists and slings

Practical activities covered can be tailored to particular services e.g. hospitals, schools, social care.

Payment options: Cost per in house course for up to 6 delegates: £430.00 + expenses + VAT ½ day courses charged pro rata
