Course programme

We will cover Sanskrit phonetics, points of articulation in the vocal apparatus, methods of chanting, breath control and other disciplines related to chanting.

This is a practical course focusing on vocal performance. Instruction will be in the classroom. Work outside of classroom will be voluntary, focusing on breathing exercises and listening to audio recommended by the instructor. There is no extra cost. Relevant study material will be provided by the instructor.

You can progress to module 2 of Sanskrit Vedic chanting in Term 2, which will expand your exposure to Vedic texts, introduce prosody and work on perfecting your chanting technique.
