This course is for jewellers with some experience through to more experienced makers looking to improve their skills in this area and apply them to their current practice. Whether you dream of designing large catwalk pieces, or focus on small sculpted jewels, see how three-dimensional sculpting can transform your jewellery pieces. This course will guide you through a range of methods, processes and techniques used in contemporary three-dimensional jewellery making. The emphasis in the first part of the course will be on experimentation and making prototypes, using paper, wire, and clay models, and developing your sense of scale, weight, and how jewellery sits on the body. In the second half of the course you will take your designs forward and develop them into jewellery pieces using wax carving, wire work or sheet metalwork.
