This introductory course provides an overview of key points about 'populism'. The course will take these key points
and look at them through the so-called 'populist movements' that have taken hold in America and across European
countries.

Course programme

-Defining what is meant by 'populism'
-Looking at the what, how and why of populism with consideration of populist movements in America and across
European countries over the past year or so.

Presentation and discussion; some in-class reading as part of class discussion and examination of key points. Please bring a pen and paper. Books will be recommended but are optional, students are not required to purchase them if they do not wish. There are no extra costs.
