Course programme
The Award in Security Guarding is designed for those who wish to work in the industry and provides candidates with the basic knowledge and responsibilities of the occupation. The qualification, which is endorsed by the SIA and regulated by Ofqual, is awarded on successful completion of three units:
- Working in the Private Security Industry
- Working as a Security Officer
- Conflict Management for the Private Security Industry
This qualification, which is worth 4 credits, follows the SIA’s new specification and the unitised structure reduces overlap between subject areas making it easier for learners to gain qualifications for additional sectors (CCTV, Door Supervision etc) as they will only need to sit the additional units.
