Singing for Fun

Your Course
This course is aimed at freeing the voice and experiencing the pure enjoyment of singing together. Over the term we will explore vocal music from a variety of genres. Songs will be taught by ear in harmonies of up to four parts. The course is open to anyone who enjoys singing regardless of experience or ability to read music. The emphasis is on the pleasure of making music together and hopefully students will feel their confidence grow and their vocal skill improve as the course progresses.
An additional fee applies to this course for the purchase of sheet music (no more than 15)
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the 10 week course students will have had the opportunity to:
· developed confidence in singing as part of a group
· performing in harmony of two or more parts
· performing music in a variety of different styles
· Some people will feel confident performing solos and duets.
Your Tutor
Cath Coombs has been running singing workshops and teaching singing one to one for a number of years. Her approach to voice work is informed by the Natural Voice ethos and the Estill voice training model. She has also had extensive experience working professionally as a singer in folk, soul and jazz. She has also studied gospel music on the London Community Gospel Choir courses.
Day and time: Tuesday 7.00 - 9.00pm

Tuition fees: £90
Method of payment: Fees for short courses (10 weeks or less) to be paid in full at enrolment and for long courses (12 weeks or more) fees of 50% can be paid at enrolment plus 50% as a cheque. Course places cannot be reserved without receipt of both payments.
Half term:
Please note that there are no classes during half term Monday 15th - Friday 19th February 2010 unless otherwise stated.
