About this course
All Essential Skills students will have two interviews and an assessment taster week, where they will come and try out the course along side current students.

Course Aims:
to develop skills that you will need in the world of work. To get better at being with and speaking to people. To learn new skills and to build confidence.
Course Content:
the award has 5 units
Unit 1: General Health and Safety
Unit 2: Personal Action Planning
Unit 3: Practical Living Skills
Unit 4: Information and Communications Technology
Unit 5: Introduction to Work
You will also study English, Maths and IT and a choice of more practical options.
Progression:
Progression may be possible to an Entry Level 3/Level 1 course.
Awarding Body:
ABC - Awarding Body Consortium
Exam:
Students collect evidence to show their skills and knowledge. They put together a file to show what they have learnt or know. Tutors may help collect evidence, for example, take photographs or write witness statements.

Duration:
The course is approximately 16 hours per week. It will be offered over a period of 33 weeks for 2 years.
