Course Objectives
• To achieve knowledge and practice in the safe and correct methods of lifting and slinging
• To acknowledge the operators responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and BS 7121: Safe Use of Cranes
• To be able to identify, inspect and correctly use a range of slinging equipment and lifting machines
Course Content
• Operator’s responsibilities within the Health and Safety at Work
Act 1974.
• Dealing with Lifting Equipment
• Dealing with Cranes and lifting machines.
• The requirements of BS 7121: Code of Practice for Safe Use of
Cranes.
• Job Analysis and production of method statements.
• Weight Estimation and Fault Analysis.
• Lifting Operation and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER)
• Work Equipment Regulations. (PUWER)
Assessment is theory and practical. Please bring PPE.
