You'll learn about research methodology, research ethics, planning, research design and analysis, presentation in order to undertake a large research project. - Mobile applications and security
This module teaches various mobile technology and application developments for iOS, Android & Windows apps. You'll also examine issues such as BYOD & Security Policy/Architecture. - Publishing architectures
On this module you learn about XML and its publishing variants ePub, docBook, Dita etc./ HTML5/PDF, metadata transformations XSLT. - Strategic management and Entrepreneurship
You'll be introduced to to the essentials of the strategic planning process, the foundations of enterprise, entrepreneurship and SMEs, IT Strategy for SME's and managing innovation. - E-business applications
This module teaches web site design/architecture, web site development and web-database connectivity. - Social media and digital publishing
This module provides an introduction to various social media technologies and tools such as google+, google analytics, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and content formats, marketing analysis, data provenance and data security. - Human computer interaction
The successful exploitation of a system often rests on how usable it is. Systems which are easy to understand and easy to use save business time. This module will introduce you to user centred design approaches through a variety of theoretical and practical studies and exercises. Students are encouraged to adopt a user centred approach both in the design and evaluation of systems. Given the mutability of the field, the module intends to keep pace with current developments as far as is practically possible. - Final project
This module will see you undertake a substantial, independent research project building on the taught course.
Modules are assessed by a mix of coursework and examinations.
