It is also to provide an award which is flexible enough to meet the needs of employers, hence the inclusion of National Occupational Standards. It is strongly preferred that candidates have some experience of care work, either paid or voluntary. All students on this course will be subject to a Disclosure Scotland check.

Course Content
Social Care Theory Mental Health Psychology Protect Individuals from Possible Harm and Abuse Sociology Social Care Graded Unit Stress Management. Students will undertake a work placement during the course.
Progression
Employment in any setting where care and support is being provided for individuals and groups. Possible Progression to University particularly Degree courses in Social Work.
