Part of the course will be delivered in lecture, offering a theoretical background to content and social media marketing. We will look at case studies and examples of good content marketing and work in groups on exercises to help write content. Then, we focus on the individual’s business by creating a social media strategy and examples of content that can be placed on social media. We will discuss when and where to post the content, how to incorporate trends or popular hashtags. Hands on work may include computer time, so students are welcome to bring laptops or mobile devices with their social media accounts ready to go. Students who wish to use classroom computers MUST bring with them their social media account log ins and be comfortable with logging into their social media account. (There will not be time in class to teach how to open a social media account from scratch.).
