Course Aims:
This is a course for those who have studied two years of the language, which builds on previous experience and aims to increase confidence and the ability to understand and communicate more accurately.

Course Content:
This is a 23 week OCN course, suitable for those who have studied a language for two years and who wish to consolidate before moving on to GCSE. It recaps as and where necessary on previous work covered and develops skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Topics relevant both to your own experience and the basic or foundation level of GCSE are covered, such as leisure time, hobbies and personal interests and tourism, holidays and planning and discussing activities. At this level, you will be discussing preferences, dislikes, advantages and disadvantages, confirmation or changing of arrangements, formally and informally. You will also be able to state intentions, hopes, past experiences and what is and is not allowed as well as asking others for information or for their opinion. Present, past and future will be referred to as well as, where appropriate, the conditional if, what you would do in certain circumstances.

Assessment at this level is through a portfolio of work and set tasks .
