About this course

You must be a qualified teacher holding either QTS, QTLS or EYTS. On application, you must provide a DfE number as evidence of this qualification. If you hold the EYTS qualification, then the National Award entitles you only to take on the post of SENCO in an early years setting (0-5 years).

What you should know about this course
Our “blended learning” model combines elements of face-to-face and remote learning. This means we will endeavour to meet the diverse needs of all our learners.
To achieve PGCert Special Educational Needs: Leading Effective and Inclusive Practice (NASENCo) you need to have QTS, QTLS or EYTS, and complete a work-based practice portfolio.
If you do not have QTS, QTLS or EYTS, you can achieve a PGCert Special Educational Needs: Leading Effective and Inclusive Practice (without the National Award).
You may return (if you gain QTS, QTLS or EYTS) to complete the portfolio and achieve the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination.
Participants who wish to continue and complete a full Master’s degree are able to accredit their prior learning achieved through the PGCert towards the MA Education award.
