Sport BTEC First

Qualification: 1 year course leading to BTEC National

Course type: Level 2 (pre advanced)

Entry requirements:
You will normally need to have at least one of the following:
  • A BTEC Foundation Certificate in a related subject
  • A standard of literacy and numeracy equivalent to 4 GCSEs at grade D.

Course assessment:
All units are assessed by coursework which is graded Pass, Merit and Distinction. An overall grade for the qualification is awarded at the end.

What can this course offer me?
The BTEC First Diploma in Sport is a practical, work related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations and activities. It will give you the knowledge, competency and understanding needed when considering entering employment in the sports industry in areas such as coaching, sports development and the exercise and fitness sector. It also provides an excellent basis to go on to the National Diploma in Sport at KGV College to further develop your knowledge and skills in this area. A BTEC First Diploma is equivalent to four GCSEs grades A* - C.

  • The Body in Sport
  • Practical Sport
