Sport Science - BTEC Level 2 First Extended Certificate

The course gives you a thorough grounding in both the practical and theoretical aspects of Sport Science. You will study the following modules: Anatomy, Health and Safety, Sports Psychology, Nutrition, Fitness Testing, Practical Sport.

• You need four GCSEs at grade D or above (these must include Science, Maths and English),
• or a Level 1 Diploma in Science (at Merit or above) along with Functional Skills in Maths and English at Level 1.
• You must also have a good reference from a school and employer.
• You will be assessed on your aptitude and enthusiasm in a formal interview and assessment prior to enrolment.

The course is assessed continually throughout the year by both coursework, which takes the form of assignments set at intervals throughout the year, and some external assessments.

This course prepares you for progression within the College onto a Level 3 sport course, or for employment in the sport or leisure industry.
