Course programme

This course discusses the lessons learned by Michael Stonebraker and Andy Palmer during their start-up endeavors over a 30-year period. Michael Stonebraker Through a series of academic prototypes and commercial startups, Stonebraker's research and products are central to many relational database systems on the market today. Founder or co-founder of nine companies, he has been a pioneer of database research and technology for more than a quarter of a century. He was the main architect of the INGRES relational DBMS, the object-relational DBMS, POSTGRES, and the federated data system, Mariposa.
