Course programme
This Studio Lighting course is designed to give you an understanding lighting, setting up lights, positioning lights, different lighting techniques, it will help you decide what lighting would suit your needs and advise you on what you need to buy to be able to set up with your own Photography Lights. The course is run over a period of 8 hours, this will include a light lunch. All you will need to do is bring your own camera as you will have the opportunity to shoot our studio model and obviously learn about the light settings and how they work with yoru camera. We keep the groups small and the the courses are frequently run in the evenings and weekends in our Fulham Based studio.
The course will cover the following:
* Use of studio flash heads (Bowens)
* High Key Lighting
* Low key lighting
* How to use a light meter
* Setting up your SLR camera for studio lighting
* Colour temperature settings for studio flash
* Using softboxes
* Using Umbrellas
* Using reflectors
* Using Polyboards
* Using an Infrared Trigger
* Using sync leads
* Understand and use colour gels
* How to light a white background
* How to backlight for black backgrounds
* Work with a professional model and skin tones
Advice will also be offered on what equipment you will need to be able to set up at home and feel confident using studio lighting. Studios can be costly be there are ways to avoid huge expenses by being just a little creative and improvising.
The course is designed for beginners however photographers of all levels are more than welcome, we have had photographers with lots of experience but use the course as a refresher if they have not used a studio for a while.
