This study trip is an opportunity to discover the vibrant contemporary art scene in Berlin as well as seeing the great museum collections of Old Master paintings and sculpture on the newly renovated Museum Island. Trace the history of German art including legendary artists like Kathe Kollwitz and Otto Dix as well as international emerging artists working in all media.

Please note: The course fee covers three full days of guided visits and all entrances to museums and churches. It does not include flights, accommodation, meals, travel insurance etc. which you will be required to book independently. You must purchase valid travel insurance. Please wait for confirmation from us before booking anything.

Course programme

- The history of German art in permanent collections in Berlin
- Smaller contemporary art galleries in Berlin
- Artists’ practices and techniques.

You will be taught with guided gallery visits and discussions. There will be coffee breaks throughout the day, as well as a break for lunch. You will be required to book and pay for your own travel, accommodation, food, etc. Please ensure you have travel insurance. NB. Please not book anything until we have confirmed that the course will take place. Please also make sure you bring comfortable shoes and something waterproof. There will be a reasonable amount of walking between venues and some looking at buildings from the outside. Please note you are responsible for getting yourself to and from meeting points so please bring a city map/app.
