Summer - A Riot of Colour
With Summer under way, this course will take a bold look at the colours around us and come up with bright and unusual ideas. Using garden material and cut flowers, you will explore the many ways that these can be used in both
traditional and modern styles with some striking results.
Whether you are planning flowers for a party, summer celebration or simply for the pleasure of decorating your home, you will feel inspired and energized by the colours and creations on this course.
This course will touch on historical and gardening references; flower design basics, style, and techniques. It will also include a visit to a garden of interest nearby and/or a talk by a colour specialist.
Nicky Llewellyn
Since planting her first packet of seeds, as a small child, Nicky has always been fascinated by plants, flowers and colour.
Later, working in the in the Middle East in the 1970's, she had an unexpected and fantastic opportunity to develop her interest as 'plane loads of flowers from Holland were delivered to her boss and somebody had to do something
with them !
Formal training and qualification followed and when Nicky moved to Somerset in 1991 she was able to realize her dream of setting up her own business and has never looked back. Nicky has built up a reputation as one of Britain's top floral designers and has provided flowers for countless weddings and events, particularly in the south-west. Her vast experience combined with creative flair means that she is much sought-after, both as a designer for events of all sizes and as an inspiring tutor.
With new courses planned at Brympton D'Evercy, Nicky says, "I am very excited about the potential here - there is a wonderful atmosphere in the house and garden and I am sure it will be a huge amount of fun - I can hardly wait to
start !"
