The course will cover three dances. The fun GI war time Jive both from the American Latin and from the Ballroom field, the sultry Tango born from Argentine streets and the sensual courtship Rumba American Latin dance.

About this course
Perform the three dances with correct footwork and to the correct tempo of music.
Lead and follow with different learners on the course in the three dances.
No other costs involved but you should wear loose fitting clothes, no trainers, flip-flops or slingback shoes, and bring a drink.
The tutor will demonstrate the steps and will give verbal instructions. You will practise dancing the steps with a partner and to different styles of music.
There will be no work outside the class but you will be given handouts about the steps taught, so that you can practise the steps at home.
HEALTH CHECK
You may or may not be asked to participate in rigorous activity from time to time. Please consider whether you could do this, if you are in any doubt consult a medical practitioner.
As part of the course content, your tutor may record your image for initial and ongoing assessment purposes. You are entitled to decline to participate in the recording of your image.

Course programme
Jive - Basic in Fallaway, Change of Place Right to Left, Stop and Go, Fallaway Throwaway, Change of Place Left to Right, Link and Promenade Walks.
Tango - Tango walks, Back Corte, Progressive Side Step, Rock Turn, Progressive Link, Reverse Turn Lady in Line, Reverse Turn Lady Outside, Left and Right Foot Rocks.
Rumba - Forward and Back Basic Step, Underarm Turn, New York’s, Hand To Hand, Switch, Zig Zag, Shoulder To Shoulder. Aida and Cuban Rocks.
The steps will be incorporated into a routine that you will be able to dance in the sessions, outside the classroom environment and dancing venues.
