Is this course for me?
This course is for those who want to develop independent living
skills and make a successful transition to adult life.
What will I study?
A range of subjects is studied including life skills, personal
development, English, maths and computing. You will also develop
personal skills, build self-confidence, and have an opportunity to
try new practical subjects and a work experience placement.
Subjects:

• IT
• Life Skills including travel training
• Literacy
• Numeracy
• Personal Development
• Residential

These are optional subjects:

• Practical vocational areas
• Work experience placement

What can I do next?
This can lead to other courses at the College and routes into
work can be investigated. Tutors are happy to help with career
progression.
What are the entry requirements?
You will need to be able to express some commitment to continue
learning and be able to convey an interest in the course.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is by being continuously assessed throughout the
course. Students also have regular tutorials to discuss progress
and to help plan studies. Additional support, help and guidance are
also available from the College Guidance Team.
What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
