2. Course description As an apprentice on the Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (STL), you will have on-the-job training, working in any type of education setting.You will attend college one day a week, studying the Certificate in STL, as well as English, Maths and ICT Functional Skills. The course can last for up to two years and you will be paid a wage by your employer.

Entry requirements You must have the following:----A job providing a minimum of 30 hours of work a week and a minimum hourly rate of 3.30--A contract of employment--Day release from your employer----You should ideally possess:----English GCSE Grade C/D--Maths GCSE Grade C/D--ICT GCSE Grade C/D--Commitment to the role and course--100% attendance at college (all subjects)-- 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method You will be observed in the work place and will gather evidence to show you are competent at a Level 2 standard. You will complete written tasks to demonstrate your knowledge of the profession and test to demonstrate your ability to apply English, Maths and ICT in everyday situations. Reviews are completed between you, the assessor and your employer, on an eight-weekly basis, giving you regular feedback on your progress.
