This course is designed to give you the understanding and abilities to effectively troubleshoot support computer networks and telecommunications systems. We will help you understand that technology is not scary, and as you find faults with hardware and support various technology-based systems you will realise that you can do it, and a well paid job awaits.

Progression:
On successful completion you may progress to the final year of a BSc (Hons) degree at the University of Plymouth.
Entry Requirements:
In our experience in order to be successful on this level of course you will need one of the following:
• 60-120 UCAS tariff points - any combination
• a BTEC national award in a related subject
• an NVQ Level 3 in a related subject
• equivalent qualifications or relevant work experience.
Duration: Full-time - two years/part-time - three years

What does the course involve?:
The following topics are studied:
- system support methodologies and fault finding
- network programming
- project management
- principle of telecommunications and networking.
- visits to industry.
When can I study?:
Full-time - 9.00am to 5.00pm/part-time - 9.00am to 7.00pm
Are there any exams?:
Modules are assessed by a mixture of coursework, in-class tests and examinations.
