To be capable of carrying out service/repair/examination/load testing and certifying in a safe manner in accordance with Manufacturers recommendations, accepted good practice and in particular meeting the LOLER Regs '98 (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations - Regulation 9) PUWER'98 (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Reg's ) The Supply of Machinery (Safety) Reg's'92 and complying with general health & safety legal duties under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974. Suitable for: Technicians, Mechanics and others who have experience in TAIL LIFT maintenance and repair but require the benefit of formal instruction in Manufacturers service/repair/examination and Load Testing/Certifying in line with current Health & Safety requirements.

Objectives:

To provide delegates with the knowledge and skills to maintain/inspect/load test and certify tail lifts safely in accordance with good maintenance practices and relevant Health & Safety Legislation.

· LORER'98/PUWER'98.
· Explanation of British Standards and C.E Regulations.
· Introduction to tail lift terms.
· Instruction in safe working practices.
· Introduction to tail lifts, controls and associated components.
· Fault finding and servicing.
· Explanation of hydraulic, electrical,mechanical systems.
· IRTE Electrical Code of Practice and related wiring and hydraulic schematic
· diagrams.
· Construction and description of terminology.
· Service and inspection.
· Thorough examination and load testing.
