This qualification is competence based. This means that it is linked to the candidate's ability to competently perform a range of tasks connected with their work. Candidates plan a programme of development and assessment with their assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove that they are competent and knowledgeable in their work role. To achieve a full Certificate, candidates must gain 17 credits. Suitable for: Suitable for all learners who wish to gain a management qualification & also to demonstrate or develop skills needed to be an effective manager. Suitable for team leaders, supervisors and junior managers in any public or commercial sector. It is suitable for people who are entering management, or who have the ability and the opportunity to demonstrate recognisable management and leadership skills, for example, providing leadership for your team, encouraging innovation etc. Also forms the competence part of an Intermediate Apprenticeship.

What I would highlight: We have had a dozen or so put on this course and all have remarked how it is useful, fun and also a positive experience. We see that our t TLs are ready to take responsibilit for work and also can use this to start to identify managers of the future. SDL are down to earth and respond to all the areas we ask them to go in and they are as ever pleasant to work with and also contribute greatly to our services.
