I am a qualified, professional potter who has exhibited widely within the UK; I have been teaching Pottery since 1989. I joined Lewisham Arthouse in 1991, and the development of my work has increased over the years, as I continue to teach in and outside of my studio space with many of my students returning on a regular basis. My qualifications include: * BA (HONS) Art and Design, Grays School of Art, Aberdeen, 1984 * C&G Teachers' Certificate in Further and Adult Education, 1995 * Canterbury Christchurch Certificate in Education, 2000
Course programme
Weekend and Summer Course Fees include:
- Demonstrations and Individual Tuition
- Talks and Discussions on Technical Matters
- Some Materials and Bisque Firing Costs
- Refreshments and a Light Lunch
Bisque fired work can be collected at a later date or posted at an additional expense. Alternatively students are welcome to return and glaze their pots during any one of the courses listed or at a time suitable. The glazing session should last for no more than half a day.
The throwing workshops are held last Friday of each month. The course will cover:
- Clay Preparation
- Basic Skills
- Thrown Forms
- Ideas and Techniques for Surface Decoration
Each student is provided with an electric wheel and untutored throwing practice will be held between 3.00 - 6.00pm.
These workshops are held Friday to Sunday between 10.00am-6.00pm.
