Course Aims:
To give an introduction to various traditional British dishes including starters, main courses and desserts.
Course Content:
Learners will watch demonstrations of how to prepare and cook a vareity of dishes. The following week there will be a practical session where learners will bring in the ingedients to prepare their own dishes. This will carry on throughout the course with a total of 15 dishes being cooked and prepared by learners.
Progression:
Progression onto other leisure courses at the college as well as accredited catering provision such as Healthy Eating at level 1.
Exam:
This is a leisure course and as such there is no formal assessment
Other Costs:
Please note that learners will be expected to provide their own ingredients for the practical sessions when they are preparing and cooking dishes.
Duration:
Three hours a week for 10 weeks
