London Metropolitan University exists to transforms lives. This will enable the student, with additional practice, to build on and gain sufficient skills to lead to employment within the industry or to help participants set up their own business. The courses are intensive and very heavily practical in nature, with approximately 90% of time spent in workshops.

Course structure

The course is heavily weighted in practical terms with students gaining skills and experience using the ‘hands on approach’ in a well equipped workshop environment.

Skills covered will include:

  • Staining
  • Grain filling
  • Colour matching
  • French Polishing techniques

Together with demonstrations, tutorials and discussions students will develop their skills and competence in the subject.
