About the course:
The Chartered Institute for Personnel Development (CIPD) is the professional body for those involved in the management and development of people. The Certificate in Training Practice (CTP) will cover the skills required by proficient training officers, training advisers and managers. It is an ideal course for management at all levels as it will help with the knowledge and competence to identify training needs, delivering and assessing the results.

This qualification is for training administrators, officers and advisers who want to build and develop a career in training and development. It's also valuable for line managers, consultants and independent trainers who want to gain a recognised qualification.

Course Content:
The CTP incorporates the following units:

• Training in context
• Identifying and prioritising learning needs
• Designing training
• Delivering, assessing and evaluating training

Learning Style:
The CTP consists of 120 hours learning activity in addition to which you may need to allow approx 120 hours for individual study/assignments.

Assessment:
The CTP is an assessment based qualification that requires you to complete:

• Four work-based or work related assignments (one for each module) - two written (1500 - 2000 words) and two skills based
• A work based project
• A Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record and plan

There are no formal examinations for this course.
