Is it for me?
ABTAC Primary covers the knowledge which competent leisure travel sales consultants should have in order to do their job, normally within about one year of starting work.
It is a one year course leading to employment in high street travel agencies, call centres or occasionally in business travel.
What do I need?
The course will appeal to anyone with a general interest in travel, although it is particularly aimed at those who are seeking a career in the industry.
What will I study?
ABTAC is the standard examination based qualification for Travel Agents, counting towards staff qualification requirements for any agency seeking ABTA membership.

Where will I study?
Baltic Campus
You'll be based at our fantastic £39million Baltic campus on the quayside. The campus has a prime location on Gateshead quayside, and state-of-the-art facilities including a Jacuzzi, gym and sauna, a 200 seat theatre, state-of-the-art classrooms, training kitchen and restaurant, refectory, bistro and vending areas.
How will I be assessed?
The course is assessed through a mix of coursework projects and online tests.
How will I be taught?
The course is taught by a team of qualified and experienced staff using the latest materials and methods.
What qualification will I get?
ABTAC Primary -(The ABTA Travel Agents Certificate)
Can I go onto further study?
Travel Agency work. Air fares and ticketing qualification. ABTAC Advanced.

You could seek employment in travel agencies, customer care, airlines, car hire, business travel, visitor attractions, tourist information centres, holiday sales and also overseas as resort reps or children's reps.
