All students can add to their main programme of study by taking part in a wide range of clubs, groups, societies and courses. Not only are the activities fun, they also develop skills and provide new and fulfilling experiences, as well as enhancing applications to Higher Education and employment.

What is the course about?
The BTEC First Diploma Travel & Tourism consists of six units.

Core Units

Unit 1: Introduction to the Travel & Tourism Industry
·Unit 2: Introduction to Tourist Destinations
·Unit 3: Introduction to Customer Service in Travel & Tourism

Specialist Units
·
Unit 4: Introduction to the Marketing in the Travel & Tourism Industry
·Unit 5: Introduction to the Business of Travel & Tourism
·Unit 6: Travel & Tourism Study Visit.

All students are expected to spend a period of time on work experience.
Stanmore Sixth Form College reserves the right to select appropriate specialist units depending on available college resources. Unit selections and programme presentation subject to change.
Students will require an overall Merit Profile grade to progress to Advanced Level study.

Additional Studies
Students will have the opportunity to take or retake GCSE English and Mathematics or additional courses.

How will you be assessed?
All units will be individually graded Pass/ Merit/Distinction. An overall grade will be calculated from the total points achieved from each unit and a single Diploma grade awarded Pass/ Merit/ Distinction.
