What is the course about?
The BTEC National Certificate in Travel & Tourism is made up of 12 units.
Year 1 units include:
·Unit 1: The Travel & Tourism Industry
·Unit 2: The Business of Travel & Tourism
·Unit 4: Tourist Destinations
·Unit 5: Customer Service in Travel & Tourism
·Unit 6: Working the Travel & Tourism Industry
Year 2 units include:
·Unit 7: Retail Travel Operations
·Unit 8: Tour Operations
·Unit 9: Passenger Transport Operations
·Unit 10: Visitor Attractions
·Unit 11: Airfares & Ticketing Level 1
·Unit 12: Handling Air Passengers
In addition, students will study Sabre Computerised Reservation System & Preparation for Air Cabin Crew.
There will be a period of work experience as part of the programme.
IT Skills
IT Plus is an important element of every programme within the Sixth Form College. All Advanced Level students will enter for the appropriate IT Plus qualification.

The course is assessed by the College through an assignment programme and there are also external tests to assess the knowledge aspect of Mandatory Units.
